[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] Deloitte Anjin Accounting Corporation announced on the 26th that it will hold an online seminar on this year's revised tax laws and corporate tax filing practices for the Korea Listed Companies Association (KLCA) and its member companies.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, the entire seminar was conducted in a recorded format to comply with government quarantine guidelines. The lecture videos will be available for viewing on the KLCA and Deloitte Anjin websites starting Tuesday, the 2nd of next month.
This online seminar is part of the "Joint Business Agreement on Internal Accounting Control System" signed by the two organizations to support companies' accounting and tax personnel, including the operation of the internal accounting control system. Beginning with this year's tax policy directions, the seminar explained the revised tax laws on corporate tax, value-added tax, and the Restriction of Special Taxation Act, as well as key points to note when filing corporate tax returns, focusing on concrete cases to help corporate practitioners understand the revised tax laws.
The seminar begins with a presentation on "2021 Tax Policy Directions" by Partner Kyubeom Cho of Deloitte Anjin. Following this, Partner Yonghyun Lee explains the major amendments to the Corporate Tax Act, the Framework Act on National Taxes, and the Value-Added Tax Act, along with the necessary information for this year's corporate tax filing. Partner Jaewoo Lee provides detailed guidance on the amendments to the Restriction of Special Taxation Act and the International Tax Adjustment Act required for this year's corporate tax filing, as well as the trust tax system applied from this year.
Jiwon Kwon, Head of Tax at Deloitte Anjin, emphasized, "This seminar includes key contents of the major revised tax laws that companies must verify and important points to consider during tax adjustments, which we expect will be of great help to corporate practitioners."
Kiheon Lee, Executive Vice President of the Korea Listed Companies Association, said, "There are many changes in this year's applicable tax laws that corporate practitioners must know," adding, "The content of this seminar will be very helpful for accounting and tax personnel in practical application."
