KAMCO-JoseYeon Transfer National Asset Management Know-How to Uzbekistan

Experience Transfer on Management and Development of State-Owned Assets and Privatization of State-Owned Enterprises

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 26th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) online with the Korea Institute of Public Finance and Uzbekistan State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) for cooperation in state property management, development, and privatization of state-owned enterprises at the large conference room on the 20th floor of KAMCO Yangjae Tower in Dodok-dong, Seoul.

This agreement was promoted for KAMCO to collaborate with the Korea Institute of Public Finance to transfer its experience and know-how in state property management, development, and privatization of state-owned enterprises to Uzbekistan's SAMA, and to explore future mutual cooperation plans between the institutions.

The three institutions plan to cooperate in various fields such as providing economic and legal information, exchanging market research reports and cooperation plans, staff training and joint research, consulting provision, and consultations. As the first step, KAMCO will conduct an online training session for SAMA executives and employees in March.

Additionally, through knowledge and human exchange with SAMA, KAMCO expects synergy effects in business areas such as policy advisory consulting and exporting the Onbid system.

Moon Sung-yoo, President of KAMCO, said, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to gradually resolve the immediate challenges for the reform of Uzbekistan's state-owned enterprises," and added, "Going forward, KAMCO will actively share and develop knowledge and work know-how with SAMA to present a successful 'New Northern Economic Cooperation Model.'"
