[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] NVH is showing strength. It appears that the news of Hyundai Motor Company's first dedicated electric vehicle, the 'Ioniq 5,' unveiled on the 23rd, recording about 25,000 pre-orders on the first day, has influenced the stock price.
As of 9:59 AM on the 26th, NVH Korea is trading at 6,620 KRW, up 7.8% from the previous day.
According to industry sources the previous day, the Ioniq 5 received about 25,000 contracts on the first day of pre-orders alone, nearly reaching this year's annual sales target of 26,500 units.
Research Alom forecasted that NVH Korea's performance would improve as it supplies battery module packs for Hyundai Motor's E-GMP platform. The appropriate stock price was suggested to be 7,200 KRW.
Researcher Doyoon Kim of Research Alom said, "NVH Korea has been supplying battery module packs to Hyundai Motor's E-GMP platform through the newly established NVH Battery System since September last year," adding, "They are responsible for assembling battery module packs designed by Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai Motor and are expected to supply an annual volume of 100,000 units."
He also expressed expectations, saying, "They supply battery module packs to the Ioniq and plan to expand their business area to include battery module pack design in the E-GMP installation process."
Research Alom predicted that Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors would record sales of 6.2 million units this year, a 16.3% increase compared to the previous year. NVH Korea is the market leader in NVH-related parts and headliner market share. It is expected to grow alongside Hyundai Motor Group through securing all NVH orders for five Genesis models.
Researcher Kim explained, "With the expansion of Kia Motors' production volume, NVH Korea's Indian subsidiary's orders are increasing, and the Czech subsidiary, selected as a supplier of electric vehicle parts to the Volkswagen Group, is also experiencing high growth." He added, "This year, they newly entered the battery module pack manufacturing business for E-GMP electric vehicles and are expected to expand their business area through in-house design and development."
He also emphasized, "The grandchild company, Wonbang Tech, is a manufacturer of cleanroom dry rooms for semiconductor and display industries and secondary batteries," adding, "Orders for dry rooms, essential for secondary battery production facilities, are expected to surge."
Meanwhile, although Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 8th of this month that "it is not currently in discussions with Apple regarding autonomous vehicle development," it is known that negotiations are still ongoing in a wide range of fields, including electric vehicle production, causing partner companies' stock prices to rise. Internal evaluations suggest that the scope of negotiations with Apple is broad, leaving much room for development. However, stock market experts expressed concerns that due to many variables in the Apple Car negotiations, it is still early to confirm the extent of benefits to actual parts suppliers.
