SPC Group Awards 'SPC Happy Scholarship' to Part-Time University Students

SPC Group Awards 'SPC Happy Scholarship' to Part-Time University Students On the 23rd, SPC Group awarded a total of 170 million KRW in scholarships to 100 recipients of the SPC Happy Scholarship.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seung-jin] SPC Group announced on the 26th that it has awarded a total of 170 million KRW in scholarships to 100 SPC Happy Scholarship recipients.

With this scholarship support, SPC Group has provided a cumulative total of 3.1 billion KRW in scholarships to 1,728 recipients since 2012.

Following the will of SPC Group Chairman Hur Young-in to "support young people working in stores to nurture their dreams," SPC Group provides 50% of tuition fees annually to 200 part-time university students (100 per semester) working at SPC Group stores such as Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, and Dunkin' Donuts, considering factors such as length of service, work attitude, and academic plans.

Considering the recent atmosphere including social distancing, SPC Group delivered scholarship certificates and bouquets to the representative scholarship recipients without holding a separate award ceremony.

Han Ji-young, who attended the ceremony, expressed, "I am grateful to SPC Group for helping me with my studies so that I can realize my dreams, and I will strive to give back the benefits I received to others."

An SPC Group official said, "The SPC Happy Scholarship is a program designed to support the dreams of university students balancing academics and part-time work," adding, "We will continue to strive to fulfill our social responsibilities through various activities."

Meanwhile, since the second half of 2011, SPC Group has practiced win-win management by selecting 10% of its open recruitment personnel from part-time students, giving preference to those with rich field experience and boosting the morale of part-time students.
