[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] Ngis Technology, a specialist company in autonomous driving and connected car solutions, announced on the 26th that an electric vehicle equipped with its navigation technology has been launched in Europe.
The electric vehicle launched in the European region is a strategic electric car model prepared by Link & Co, a subsidiary of Volvo, to target the European market. It is currently the most popular model among young people in China and is a new model entering the European market for the first time. It is equipped with the connected navigation solution developed by Ngis Technology.
Ngis Technology's connected navigation solution for electric vehicles is a user-centered intelligent navigation system that, unlike general navigation solutions, provides optimal route guidance by utilizing various vehicle status information such as the electric vehicle's battery level, route information, speed, and air conditioning information based on the location information of electric vehicle charging stations during route guidance.
The core of the connected navigation solution supplied by Ngis Technology this time is the incremental map update technology that allows map updates inside the vehicle while driving.
Drivers of vehicles equipped with the OTA (Over-The-Air) based incremental map update solution for vehicles can receive route guidance with the latest maps at all times through real-time updates without the cumbersome process of visiting a service center or updating via SD card and PC programs to update the vehicle navigation map.
A representative of Ngis Technology said, "Royalty sales are expected to occur this year," and added, "We plan to expand discussions on this solution to various domestic and international automobile manufacturers."
