[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) held the "Final Report Meeting for the Establishment of the Basic and Implementation Plans for Sustainable Development" on the afternoon of the 25th in the district office's large conference room, outlining a mid- to long-term roadmap.
The district conducted this project to combine the policy directions of various sectors of the district administration with the UN-adopted Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to transform Gangseo-gu into a sustainable innovative city that embraces both the present and the future.
Since June of last year, the Social Innovation Research Institute, which analyzed the direction of sustainable development for Gangseo-gu, presented the vision of "Harmonious Development, Beautiful Life in Gangseo."
Along with this, 17 sustainable development goals and key tasks were established in each of the social, economic, environmental, and administrative system sectors, reflecting the regional characteristics.
Based on this, the district plans to accelerate the implementation of effective Gangseo-type sustainable development policies.
Mayor Noh Hyun-song stated, "The mid- to long-term sustainable development plan aligns with the district administration's vision of 'Harmonious Growth, Beautiful Life in Gangseo,'" and urged, "All departments should establish and implement more detailed and systematic sustainable development plans with the goal of making Gangseo-gu a sustainable city."
