Positive Response to ‘Complex Civil Complaint Specialist Consultation System’ in Seo-gu, Gwangju

Hiring Retired Public Officials with Extensive Administrative Experience... Enhancing Convenience for Civil Petitioners

Positive Response to ‘Complex Civil Complaint Specialist Consultation System’ in Seo-gu, Gwangju

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The “Integrated Civil Petition Specialist Counselor System” of Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) is receiving great response.

Seo-gu announced on the 25th that it has been operating the “Integrated Civil Petition Specialist Counselor System” since last year to improve civil petition administrative services and enhance convenience for citizens.

This system hires retired public officials with diverse administrative work experience to explain complex civil petitions, which may be difficult for petitioners to understand, in an easy-to-understand manner and to provide consultation on processing procedures.

Currently, two retired public officials are working as integrated civil petition specialist counselors in Seo-gu.

These specialist counselors provide consultation services related to complex civil petitions involving multiple departments such as building permits and registrations, handle grievance consultations, and guide required documents and record-keeping methods when applying for civil petitions.

In particular, Seo-gu hires retired public officials with about 30 to 40 years of work experience as one-stop civil petition specialist counselors, playing a significant role in reducing the time citizens spend processing civil petitions when visiting the district office.

Additionally, they provide administrative experience accumulated over a long period to the staff in charge, serving as a bridge between civil petition demanders and providers, thereby increasing satisfaction.

In fact, over the past year, they achieved a total of 665 cases handled, including 170 cases of prompt processing through consultation with related departments and 495 cases of other civil petition consultation and guidance.

Seo-gu’s “Integrated Civil Petition Specialist Counselor System” is expected to contribute to improving resident convenience by comprehensively guiding overall civil petition processing procedures and required documents, eliminating the inconvenience of petitioners having to visit multiple departments.

The integrated civil petition specialist counselor service is available on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Civil Service Department on the first floor of Seo-gu Office.

A Seo-gu official said, “We are striving to provide administrative services that consider residents’ satisfaction and convenience through customer-centered customized services,” and added, “We will implement prompt work processing and trusted civil petition administration through the operation of the specialist counselor system.”
