Lotte Homeshopping delivered 'audiobooks' for visually impaired children to the National Seoul School for the Blind on the 25th.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 25th that it delivered 'audiobooks' for visually impaired children to the National Seoul School for the Blind. The event was attended by Yoon Ji-hwan, Head of Marketing Division at Lotte Homeshopping, Lee Sung-kyu, Chairman of the Korea Disabled Foundation, and Kim Eun-joo, Principal of the Seoul School for the Blind.
Lotte Homeshopping delivered audio books produced through the voluntary participation of broadcasting experts, including show hosts. They recorded 20 nature and science books included in the 3rd and 4th grade elementary school textbooks, producing 1,000 sets of audio books, which will be donated to about 400 special schools nationwide.
In addition, 150 employees of Lotte Homeshopping input documents according to braille book formats to produce electronic books. Visually impaired individuals can download the files and automatically convert them on braille devices to read the books. They also donated book sterilizers and notebook-type braille displays.
A Lotte Homeshopping official said, "Since 2015, we have been producing audio books through talent donations from employees to support the learning of visually impaired children," adding, "We will continue to carry out sharing activities that utilize the characteristics of our business to fulfill our social responsibilities."
