Daekyohyeop Announces 2020 University Evaluation Results from Industry Perspective
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Council for University Education announced the results of selecting the best departments in the fields of architecture and mechanical engineering as chosen by companies.
On the 24th, the Council selected 25 best departments based on the 2020 Industry Perspective University Evaluation results. Twelve departments in the architecture field and thirteen departments in the mechanical engineering field were selected as the best departments.
The best departments in the architecture field are: Gangwon National University (Samcheok) Department of Construction Convergence, Architectural Engineering Major; Kyonggi University Department of Architectural Engineering; Gyeongnam National University Department of Architecture; Kyungil University Department of Architecture, Architectural Engineering Major; Dongseo University Department of Architectural Engineering; Seoul National University of Science and Technology Department of Architecture, Architectural Engineering Major; Yeungnam University Department of Architecture, Architectural Engineering Major; Jeju National University Department of Architecture, Architectural Engineering Major; Chung-Ang University Department of Architecture, Architectural Engineering Major; Changwon National University Department of Architecture, Architectural Engineering Major; Korea National University of Transportation Architectural Engineering Major; Korea University of Technology and Education Department of Design and Architectural Engineering, Architectural Engineering Major.
The best departments in the mechanical engineering field are: Gachon University Department of Mechanical Engineering; Daegu University Department of Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Major, Mechanical Design Engineering Major); Dong-Eui University Mechanical Engineering; Pusan National University Department of Mechanical Engineering; Seoul National University of Science and Technology Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Automotive Engineering Program; Woosuk University Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering; Chonnam National University Department of Mechanical Engineering; Chosun University Department of Mechanical Engineering; Chung-Ang University Department of Mechanical Engineering; Korea University of Technology and Education Department of Mechanical Engineering; Korea Polytechnic University Department of Mechanical Design Engineering; Halla University Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering; Hanyang University Department of Mechanical Engineering.
This evaluation was conducted by an evaluation committee composed of executives and employees from 20 companies and university evaluation experts, focusing on three areas: curriculum design, curriculum operation, and curriculum operation outcomes.
The participating companies include Samsung C&T, Hyundai Development Company, Daewoo Construction, Lotte Construction, Korea Construction Association, SsangYong Motor, Youngil Industry, KMP, FM Solution, KM Engineering, and Hanon Systems.
The Council will hold the ‘2020 Industry Perspective University Evaluation Project Online Results Presentation Seminar’ on the 24th to strengthen communication between industry and academia, which will be broadcast live on YouTube.
