Samsung Securities Receives Over 400 Online General Meeting Applications... Twice as Many as Last Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] Samsung Securities announced on the 24th that the number of companies applying for the 'Online General Meeting Hall' service, which allows easy participation and management of shareholder meetings, has exceeded 400.

Samsung Securities' 'Online General Meeting Hall' provides an electronic voting system for general meetings. The number of applicant companies doubled from 200 last year, the first year the service was launched, to this year.

Voting rights on agenda items, which previously required attending the meeting in person or sending by mail, can now be exercised online. Input related to the general meeting is automated, and information such as disclosures related to the meeting, which were manually entered before, is directly transmitted from the electronic disclosure system to Samsung Securities' 'Online General Meeting Hall' system.

For shareholder authentication to use the 'Online General Meeting Hall,' three methods are available: 'Joint Certificate,' 'KakaoPay Authentication,' and 'Pass App Authentication' (introduced in March).

Han Sang-hoon, Head of Sales Solutions at Samsung Securities, said, "Due to COVID-19, inquiries and consulting requests regarding the 'Online General Meeting Hall' from companies have significantly increased," adding, "We will continue to provide specialized general meeting support services tailored to the diverse needs of companies."
