Apple to Open Second Store in Yeouido on 26th "One Person per Visit, Reservation Required"

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Apple, accelerating its push into the Korean market, is opening its second offline store in Yeouido despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.

Apple Korea announced on the 24th that it will open its second Apple Store, 'Apple Yeouido,' at 10 a.m. on the 26th. This comes more than three years after the first store, 'Apple Garosugil,' opened in January 2018. Deirdre O'Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and People, said, "It is a great honor to meet more customers in Korea with a store more than twice the size since the opening of Apple Garosugil."

Until the 16th of next month, there will be an education discount promotion where students purchasing a MacBook or iPad will receive AirPods as a gift. Additionally, AppleCare+ service will be offered at a 20% discount, and accessories will also be sold at discounted prices. 'Today at Apple' sessions will be operated by reservation (apple.com/kr/yeouido).

To prepare for the expected influx of customers on opening day, visits will be managed by a time reservation system. Reservations are non-transferable, and only one person per reservation is allowed entry. The number of customers inside the store will be limited, so waiting may occur. All employees and customers in the Apple Store must comply with COVID-19 prevention measures such as wearing masks, temperature checks, and social distancing upon entry.

Meanwhile, Apple Garosugil, the first Apple Store in Korea, has welcomed millions of customers since its opening in 2018 and has established itself as one of the most popular Apple Store locations worldwide.
