Korea Yakult Achieves 100 Million Bottles Sold in 2 Years Since Launch of 'Jang Care Project MPRO3'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Korea Yakult announced on the 24th that the 'Gut Care Project MPRO3 (MPRO3)' has achieved cumulative sales of 100 million bottles. This sales speed is faster than Korea Yakult's steady seller 'Coopers Premium' within just two years of its launch. It means one bottle was sold every 1.6 seconds.

'MPRO3' is a product introduced by Korea Yakult in February 2019 after more than four years of research. By applying a patented cap, it allows simultaneous intake of 'probiotics' and 'prebiotics' that help their proliferation in capsule and liquid forms.

Korea Yakult cited the probiotic functionality contained in the product as the secret to 'MPRO3's popularity. It is made by mixing three patented lactic acid bacteria strains, and through joint research with the Korean Society of Metabolic and Nutritional Surgery and human application tests, it was confirmed to help promote beneficial bacteria growth and suppress harmful bacteria.

Korea Yakult's regular delivery system is also an advantage. The 'Fresh Manager' delivers the product fresh to designated places and dates using a refrigerated electric cart. This allows consistent care for gut health, which can easily be neglected in a busy daily life.

Byun Gyeong-gu, head of Korea Yakult's M&S division, said, "With growing interest in gut health and the increasingly competitive 'probiotics' market, selling 100 million units of a single product is very meaningful," adding, "Currently, more than 150,000 units are steadily sold daily, solidifying its position as a leading gut health product in Korea."
