Naju-si Supports 'Bag Safety Covers' for New Elementary School Students

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 23rd that it has delivered 1,300 "children's backpack safety covers" to the Naju Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Young-gil) to ensure the safety of elementary school students commuting to and from school for the new semester.

The children's backpack safety covers are made of fluorescent-colored covers to help drivers easily identify children walking at night or in rainy conditions when visibility is poor.

To encourage compliance with the vehicle speed limit (30 km/h) in school zones around schools, the cover prominently displays the number "30".

Additionally, the covers are waterproof, providing practical functionality to keep backpacks dry even during heavy rain or snow.

Mayor Kang In-gyu and Superintendent Kim Young-gil attended the delivery ceremony.

The Office of Education plans to distribute the safety covers to first-grade elementary school students who enrolled this year.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "I hope this will contribute to creating a safe route to school for children, the future leaders, and to the voluntary spread of advanced traffic order," adding, "We will continue to develop various safety policies to prevent not only traffic accidents but all hazards in advance for the happy lives of children."
