[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] At 11:42 a.m. on the 21st, an imported SUV exploded on the road in front of Yangdong Covered Market in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.

It was confirmed that the explosion occurred while driving, and the driver, Mr. A (37), sustained burns on his arm and was taken to the hospital.

It is reported that his life is not in danger.

Mr. A was reportedly transporting about 10 portable butane gas canisters to be used at an interior construction site.

According to Mr. A’s statement that the explosion occurred immediately after lighting a lighter to light a cigarette, it is presumed that butane gas had leaked.

The police and fire department are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
