[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is the first autonomous district in Seoul to support the stable independence of cooperatives facing difficulties in business operations by providing business development funds.

Through this public offering, the district plans to support up to 5 million KRW for various expenses necessary for cooperative business development, including ▲technology development ▲brand and logo development ▲product improvement ▲business promotion.

The eligible applicants are two cooperatives located in Dobong-gu that have completed business registration and corporate registration as of the announcement date. Applications are accepted from the 22nd to March 5th.

Cooperatives wishing to participate can download the application form from the Dobong-gu website, fill it out, and submit it either by email or by visiting the Autonomous Village Division of Dobong-gu Office.

Dobong-gu has annually established a 'Social Economy Revitalization Promotion Plan' to build a social economy regional ecosystem and has been implementing various policy projects to foster and support social economy enterprises. This public offering project is also part of the social economy revitalization efforts.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “Many cooperatives are struggling with business operations due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “We hope that the support for business development funds will strengthen the competitiveness of cooperatives and provide an opportunity to establish a stable foundation for independence.”
