360-Degree Screen Rotation, 16-inch Model Weighs 1480g
16-inch Priced at 2.24 Million KRW, 14-inch at 2.09 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Electronics is targeting the 2-in-1 notebook market by launching a new lineup of the ‘LG Gram’ called ‘LG Gram 360’.
On the 21st, LG Electronics announced that it will release the Gram 360 on the 22nd, maintaining the Gram’s ultra-lightweight and large screen features while allowing the screen to rotate 360 degrees. The Gram 360 can be used in various modes such as notebook and tablet depending on the situation.
The new product will be available in two sizes: 16-inch and 14-inch. Considering that the screen sizes of general notebooks currently sold in the market are 15.6 inches (39.6 cm) and 13.3 inches (33.7 cm), LG Electronics increased the screen size while maintaining a compact size.
The Gram 360 can be used in notebook mode when using the keyboard for tasks such as document work or video editing, and in tablet mode when enjoying video content or using the pen. The 16-inch model weighs 1,480 grams and is equipped with a high-capacity 80 watt-hour (Wh) battery to enhance portability.
Colors include a total of three: ‘Obsidian Black’ (16- and 14-inch), ‘Quartz Silver’ (16-inch), and ‘Topaz Green’ (14-inch), with different release dates for each color. The starting price is 2.24 million KRW for the 16-inch model and 2.09 million KRW for the 14-inch model, based on Intel Core i5, 8GB memory, and 256GB solid-state drive (SSD).
It features a 16:10 aspect ratio ultra-high-definition WQXGA (2560x1600) IPS display. It meets 99% of the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) standard color gamut DCI-P3.
Equipped with Intel’s 11th generation Tiger Lake processor, it offers approximately 20% faster data processing speed compared to previous models. It also includes Intel’s integrated graphics processor Iris Xe and has obtained certification for the new generation notebook standard, the ‘Intel Evo platform.’
For customers who want more storage than the basic provided capacity, a dual slot is applied. An additional SSD can be installed as needed, allowing up to 2 terabytes (TB) of storage. It has passed seven U.S. Department of Defense reliability tests (shock, dust, high temperature, low temperature, vibration, salt fog, low pressure), proving its durability.
Kim Sun-hyung, head of marketing for LG Electronics Korea HE, emphasized, “The large screen is becoming the trend in the 2-in-1 notebook market as well,” and added, “We will actively target the 2-in-1 notebook market with the ‘LG Gram 360,’ which combines a large screen with portability.”
