Honam University Startup Club Interviewed for 'Hosulleng Guide' Book Introducing Popular Restaurants Near Stations

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Students participating in ‘Hoshelleng Guide,’ a startup club of the Department of Hotel Management at Honam University, appeared on a terrestrial broadcast talk show for an in-depth interview regarding the distribution of the ‘Station Area Restaurants’ booklet containing information on popular restaurants near Gwangju subway stations.

According to Honam University on the 18th, senior students Kim Hye-bin and Kim Da-bi from the Department of Hotel Management appeared on KBS1TV’s ‘Focused Interview This Person,’ aired by KBS Gwangju Broadcasting Station, from 8:05 PM to 8:25 PM the previous evening, where they shared stories about the production of the ‘Hoshelleng Guidebook’ and their future plans.

In the interview, the students said, “We hope the Hoshelleng Guidebook booklet will serve as a catalyst to bring some vitality to restaurant owners struggling due to COVID-19,” adding, “We also plan to produce a ‘Hyumirak (休味樂) Guidebook’ covering accommodations and attractions in the Gwangju area, collaborate with international students on campus to create a foreigner version of the guidebook, and develop works that reflect Honam University’s characteristics as an AI-centered university.”

They continued, “Since not only the hotel industry but also the hospitality and MICE industries have high added value, we want to contribute to the development of Gwangju’s specialized tourism industry utilizing convention facilities,” expressing their enthusiasm by saying, “We aim to achieve our dreams by obtaining relevant certifications and engaging in internships with the goal of pursuing careers as hoteliers and in the MICE industry.”

The startup club Hoshelleng Guide produced the ‘Hoshelleng Guidebook,’ which contains information based solely on their visits and evaluations of the taste of food at 19 restaurants near five Gwangju subway stations over approximately nine months starting from May last year. The guidebook was delivered to the Holiday Inn Gwangju Hotel and Venture Business Hotel, receiving positive responses.
