[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 17th that it has completed the remodeling construction of the Youth Training Center and will reopen it from the 18th.

The Youth Training Center, which opened in 2004, had been criticized for safety issues due to aging facilities. Accordingly, Yeongcheon City has been carrying out construction since March last year with a budget of 1 billion KRW.

Yeongcheon City explained that this remodeling construction focused on securing the safety and improving the convenience of youth. It has transformed into a new look through the expansion of dance and singing practice rooms reflecting current trends, the creation of a book cafe, and remodeling of the Youth Nuri Center.

Mayor Ki-moon Choi pledged, "We will continue efforts to improve the environment so that youth can become the owners of the region, enjoy the present through self-directed activities, and acquire the capabilities necessary for future society to become independent."
