Up to 2.5 Million Won... "Small and Medium Enterprises with Excellent Technology Expect Substantial Investment Attraction"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will start a “3-type support” project from March to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) recover their management, which suffered economic damage due to COVID-19, by pioneering sales channels.
The detailed projects are ▲support for participation in domestic and overseas exhibitions ▲support for acquiring excellent domestic and overseas certifications ▲support for sales channels and marketing.
Among the autonomous districts of Seoul, Songpa-gu is the only district that promotes all three projects to support SMEs.
First, the “exhibition participation support” targets companies participating individually in domestic and overseas exhibitions this year. Booth rental fees will be supported up to a maximum of 2.5 million KRW per company.
In particular, considering the trend of increasing online exhibitions due to COVID-19, the district will also support participation fees for online exhibitions this year. Companies that participated in January and February of this year can also apply retroactively.
For companies scheduled to acquire excellent domestic and overseas certifications or other certifications this year, the costs required for “certification acquisition” will be supported. Up to 2 million KRW per company is possible, and up to two certifications can be applied for within the support amount limit.
Companies that acquired certifications in January and February of this year can also receive support, and companies renewing existing certifications or reapplying for certifications due to standard revisions are also eligible for support.
“Sales channel and marketing support” is a customized project that supports various promotional and marketing expenses within a limit.
It was first promoted last year for SMEs struggling due to COVID-19 and received favorable reviews. Companies can choose the means they want, such as promotional materials and social networking services (SNS), and apply. Support is provided up to 90% of the cost, with a maximum of 2.5 million KRW per company.
All three support projects are available to SMEs registered with a business registration or factory registration in Songpa-gu. The application period for exhibition participation support is from March 2 to 10, and for excellent certification acquisition and sales channel and marketing support, from March 2 to 12.
Detailed information on applications and eligibility can be found in the public notices on the Songpa-gu Office website. For other inquiries, contact the Corporate Support Team of the Job Policy Division at Songpa-gu Office.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “I hope that local SMEs with excellent technology will attract practical investment and find new vitality through this support,” and added, “In addition, throughout this year, we will actively carry out various support projects such as SME funding support, customized bidding information systems, and operation of village management instructors to create ‘Songpa, a city good for business.’”
