[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] On the 16th, the Gangjin-gun Public Health Center in Jeonnam announced that it will conduct non-face-to-face proper handwashing experience education and infectious disease prevention education targeting infection-vulnerable facilities such as kindergartens, daycare centers, elementary schools, and nursing hospitals.
The health center had originally been conducting proper handwashing and cough etiquette education through the "Visiting Infectious Disease Prevention Education," but due to the impact of COVID-19, it has switched to non-face-to-face education to promote infectious disease prevention education.
To this end, the health center provides sufficient educational materials such as free rental of View Box (hand cleansing education device), videos, and posters to the facilities, and under the guidance of teachers at the respective institutions, they watch educational videos, participate in experiential learning, and share the learning results with the health center.
The View Box is a device that allows users to visually check the cleanliness of their hands by comparing before and after washing hands coated with fluorescent lotion. It enables users to see at a glance how clean their hands usually are, helping them experience the importance of proper handwashing habits.
Also, non-face-to-face education through View Box rentals is actively being conducted mainly at daycare centers, attracting children's curiosity and receiving positive responses.
Seo Hyun-mi, the head of the health center, said, "We will develop and supplement customized educational materials for each facility amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation to provide non-face-to-face infectious disease prevention education that is as effective as face-to-face education."
Meanwhile, institutions wishing to receive educational materials can apply to the health center's Infectious Disease Management Team.
