[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Samsung C&T Corporation's construction division is unveiling next-generation smart residential technology utilizing artificial intelligence (A.I). This technology is expected to be commercialized as early as this year.

On the 15th, Samsung C&T announced the launch of the upgraded 'Raemian RAI (Raemian Artificial Intelligence) Life Pavilion,' an enhancement of the Raemian Home Lab - Smart Life Pavilion, applying A.I technologies for convenient residential living.

Previously, Samsung C&T opened the Raemian Home Lab - Smart Life Pavilion in 2018, showcasing various smart home technologies. Technologies such as facial recognition, voice recognition, and wearable one-pass systems installed in the Smart Life Pavilion have been applied to Raemian complexes sold since 2019.

The newly opened RAI Life Pavilion features lifestyle convenience services using future technologies such as A.I, robots, and drones, as well as specialized spaces like home offices and home training rooms. These technologies aim for commercialization within this year once verification is complete.

The RAI Life Pavilion's space is broadly divided into common areas and individual units.

The common areas consist of parking lots and shared complex spaces. In the parking lot, a smart parking guidance system recognizes residents' vehicle license plates and guides them to parking spaces near their residential buildings. Delivery robot technology is also introduced to receive and transport residents' packages.

At the apartment entrance, visitor facial recognition and thermal imaging detection systems are installed, and residents can check the plant cultivation status of the smart farm installed in the complex's common areas via CCTV from inside their homes.

In the community area, autonomous guide robots perform customer escort and facility guidance, while an unmanned caf? robot in the indoor caf? is responsible for beverage preparation and serving.

Inside the units, existing smart home functions are enhanced with A.I solutions to provide customized environments based on residents' lifestyle patterns. Preferred environments for meals, relaxation, and sleep are implemented in each space, and bathtubs fill water at the desired temperature.

Reflecting the increase in remote activities due to COVID-19, spaces suitable for home offices or homeschooling have been created. These are designed as hidden spaces to enhance concentration. Additionally, multi-rooms for enjoying various hobbies such as home fitness and movie watching are introduced.

Kim Myungseok, Executive Director of the Product Design Group at Samsung C&T's construction division, stated, "Samsung C&T is actively incorporating various smart technologies into Raemian," adding, "Through A.I automation solutions, we will provide ultra-personalized customized services."
