[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises (KFME) announced on the 15th that it will hold the '2021 Medium-sized Enterprises Overseas Expansion Strategy Seminar' on the 25th at the Listed Companies Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
Experts on Free Trade Agreements (FTA) will participate in this seminar to explore key sectoral strategies to respond to changes in the global trade environment after COVID-19. The Korea International Trade Association's FTA Comprehensive Support Center and others will share effective overseas market entry strategies utilizing FTAs. Solutions to ease difficulties in overseas entry and exit, which have intensified due to COVID-19, will also be introduced.
The Korea International Trade Association's FTA Comprehensive Support Center will introduce successful models such as the EU-Vietnam FTA, which considers Korean-origin fabric as Vietnamese-origin under the 'cumulation of origin' rule when exporting to the EU, and business utilization methods by industry. Strategies to mitigate post-verification risks that may increase with the rising FTA utilization rate will also be presented.
Customs Corporation CTL will propose overseas market entry strategies utilizing mega FTAs such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), concluded in November last year, based on this year's global trade environment outlook. Practical know-how such as origin determination and preparation of origin certification documents will also be shared.
Travel company SBTM will introduce major issues and difficulties related to overseas entry and exit. SBTM operates the 'Medium-sized Enterprises Overseas Entry and Exit Support Service' in cooperation with KFME. They will also explain effective utilization methods of the overseas safety movement system 'PITCO,' which has supported over 20,000 overseas business trips despite COVID-19.
Meanwhile, this seminar limits on-site attendance to 35 people due to COVID-19. Applications will be accepted online on a first-come, first-served basis until the 22nd of this month.
