The number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area has remained in single digits for 11 consecutive days since six cases were reported on the 3rd.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 14th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area was 3,051 (including 45 imported cases), an increase of five cases (one imported) from the previous day.
New confirmed cases by region include two each in Pohang City and Cheongdo County, and one in Andong City.
Among the new confirmed cases in Pohang City, one was a contact of Pohang case number 430, confirmed on the 30th of last month, who tested positive during the pre-release test from self-quarantine. The other case was confirmed positive during the pre-release test from self-quarantine after arriving from Asia.
The two new confirmed cases in Cheongdo County were contacts of Cheongdo cases 176 and 177, confirmed on the 12th. In Andong City, one discharged patient related to the cluster outbreak at Seoul Hanyang University Hospital tested positive during the pre-release test from self-quarantine.
In Gyeongbuk Province, 24 people (excluding imported cases) were confirmed positive across various locations over the past week, resulting in a weekly daily average of 3.4 confirmed cases.
Since February, the COVID-19 spread in Gyeongbuk has significantly slowed, with daily confirmed cases reported as follows: 10 on the 1st, 12 (including 2 imported) on the 2nd, 6 on the 3rd, 7 (including 1 imported) on the 4th, 7 (including 3 imported) on the 5th, 1 on the 6th, 6 (including 1 imported) on the 7th, 5 (including 1 imported) on the 8th, 2 on the 9th, 1 on the 10th, 4 on the 11th, 5 (including 1 imported) on the 12th, and 5 (including 1 imported) on the 13th.
