Vaccinations at Disneyland, Art Museums, and Cathedrals... Unique Global Locations Mobilized to Prevent Vaccine Hesitancy

Since the 16th of last month, while COVID-19 vaccinations have been underway at Salisbury Cathedral in Wiltshire, southern England, pipe organ music has been resonating throughout the venue.

In the United States, the parking lot of Disneyland, California's representative amusement park, is being used as a vaccination site, and drive-through vaccinations have been conducted since early this month in the parking lots of Six Flags, large amusement parks in California and Maryland.

The third-floor exhibition hall of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art in Turin, Italy, is also a vaccination site. This exhibition hall spans approximately 280 pyeong (about 924 square meters) and has multiple exhibition rooms, making it suitable for social distancing.

The museum announced that it will prepare so that vaccine recipients can appreciate the works of Swiss artist Claudia Comte, currently on display, while receiving their vaccinations. Director Christoph Baggaiyev explained the reason for using the exhibition hall as a vaccination site, saying, "Art has always helped, healed, and cured."

Italy is collaborating with architect Stefano Boeri to install temporary vaccination centers decorated with pink flower paintings at over 1,500 locations nationwide. Italy is promoting vaccinations at the government level under the slogan, "Italy lives with flowers."

Regarding the recent vaccinations taking place at unique locations worldwide, Bloomberg UK reported that "places that give a positive feeling can help alleviate vaccine hesitancy."
