'Reign of Assassins The Original' Reopens on the 31st of Next Month

The film 'Farewell My Concubine: The Original' is returning to the screen. Distributor JNC Media Group announced on the 10th that the film will be re-released on the 31st of next month. It is a drama that deals with the friendship, love, and loss between Du Zii (Leslie Cheung) and Xi Tu (Zhang Fengyi), who met at the Peking Opera School. In 1993, it was recognized for its artistic merit by jointly winning the Palme d'Or, the highest award, at the Cannes International Film Festival alongside Jane Campion's 'The Piano.' It was re-released in a digitally remastered version on March 28 last year, attracting 102,205 viewers. Director Chen Kaige's beautiful visuals and the passionate performances of Leslie Cheung, Gong Li, and Zhang Fengyi are delivered with clearer picture quality and sharper sound.
