[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City will open 28 public parking lots around traditional markets and shopping districts free of charge during the Lunar New Year holiday (February 11-14) to provide parking convenience for local residents and visitors and to help revive neighborhood businesses.
Temporary parking zones will be designated in traditional markets (Ocheon Market, Yanghak Market, Daehye Bulbit Market, Yeongildae Northern Market), and other public parking lots around markets and shopping districts will be open free for 2 hours.
A Pohang city official said, "We sincerely offer our condolences to citizens who cannot visit their hometowns during the holiday and to small business owners going through difficult times due to social distancing," adding, "We will do our best to operate the parking lots to support citizens visiting the markets and to revitalize the local economy."
