[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 9th that it will conduct 'Excellent Technology Matching Consulting' to support technological innovation and competitiveness enhancement of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by connecting SMEs in need of new technologies with universities and research institutions possessing excellent technologies.
Through the consulting service, IBK Industrial Bank finds and connects universities and research institutions that hold patents and know-how required by SMEs, and if suitable technology is not available, it also provides matching with joint research institutions for customized technology development.
Along with technical advice for smooth technology transfer, the bank supports areas necessary for subsequent commercialization such as accounting, tax, and management consulting. Additionally, to support the growth of technology-based innovative companies, financial support such as investment and loans from the bank will be provided to SMEs that have successfully completed technology transfer.
The consulting service can be applied for through the bank branches with which the companies have transactions.
In fact, in the case of semiconductor equipment manufacturer Company A located in Bucheon City, while searching for new technology to improve existing products, a connection with a related research institute was successfully made through the consulting service. Technology transfer is currently underway, and the bank is also considering future investment.
An IBK Industrial Bank official stated, "We will take the lead in supporting the growth of innovative companies by providing not only simple technology transfer but also customized development cooperation and commercialization consulting."
