Increased Accessibility to Donation Information and Easier Registration Process
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 8th that it has launched the Integrated Donation Management System.
The Integrated Donation Management System consolidates scattered donation information within ministries into an easy-to-understand format for the public and digitizes the registration process for fundraising activities. This initiative has been promoted as a government national agenda to enhance donation transparency and foster a healthy donation culture.
With this launch, disclosure information from major statutory and designated donation organizations, including public interest corporations under the National Tax Service, as well as fundraising registration information from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and city/provincial governments, will be provided in an integrated manner.
From now on, by simply accessing the 1365 Donation Portal, users can easily check the National Tax Service disclosure information and fundraising activity details of the relevant organizations. In particular, accounting and donation information among the public interest corporations (about 10,000) disclosed on the National Tax Service Hometax system are visualized in the form of graphs and tables, allowing users to view the information at a glance.
All documents related to fundraising registration will also be disclosed. Previously, only brief information about fundraising organizations and their collection/use was provided, but starting from the 2020 registration, documents such as fundraising registration certificates, collection/use plans, collection/use completion reports, and audit reports will be progressively uploaded for each fundraising organization. Updates will be reflected regularly.
Furthermore, while fundraising registration has been conducted through paper applications until now, all procedures related to fundraising will be handled online in the future. Issuance of registration certificates by the registration office and reporting of collection/use completion by fundraising organizations can now be done through the 1365 Donation Portal. An administrator page has been configured to allow organizations to easily view their application status and approval results, enhancing convenience for fundraisers.
The convenience for users of the 1365 Donation Portal has also been improved. The portal’s main page includes an integrated search function to easily find information about donation organizations. In addition to guidance materials on fundraising registration procedures and donation-related systems such as tax deductions, a chatbot is available 24/7 to answer simple questions.
Lee Jae-young, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "Transparent information disclosure through the Integrated Donation Management System will serve as a catalyst to increase the trustworthiness of donation organizations," and added, "I hope this will lead to a virtuous cycle where our society’s donation culture matures and donation activation follows."
