Hugel's Letibo in China '2021 Online Launch Event' a Great Success

Over 1,000 Pre-Order Medical Institutions and 5 Million Users Connected

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Hugel held the ‘2021 Letibo Online Launch Event’ on the 4th and introduced the botulinum toxin product ‘Letibo’ to the Chinese market.


Hugel conducted the event via recorded broadcast to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The launch event, held for about an hour from 19:00 local time in China on the 4th, was streamed through 11 platforms including WeChat, Soyoung, and Yizhibo. Approximately 5 million people connected, including 600 investors, over 3,000 medical institution officials, and general consumers from 31 provinces and municipalities in China.


A Hugel official stated, "We initially planned to broadcast on three platforms, but on the day of the launch, eight additional companies expressed their intention to stream," adding, "The number of viewers far exceeded the initially expected 2 million, reaching 5 million."


He continued, "According to the order system tally, about 1,000 medical institutions pre-ordered Letibo."


Hugel’s botulinum toxin product ‘Letibo’ is the first among domestic companies and the fourth worldwide to obtain product approval from Chinese health authorities. To enter the Chinese market, Hugel formed a partnership with ‘Sihian Pharmaceutical,’ the third-largest pharmaceutical company in the local hospital drug market. After about a year of Phase 3 clinical trials starting in 2017, it obtained Chinese product approval in October last year. In December last year and on the 2nd of this year, export shipments were made twice, completing preparations for full-scale local market entry.


The online launch event was held under the theme ‘Reaching a New Level of Beauty.’ It began with an introductory video about Letibo, which is about to be distributed in the local market, followed by greetings from Cheo Pungseong, chairman of the Sihian Pharmaceutical Group responsible for local distribution in China, and Hugel CEO Son Jihoon.


CEO Son Jihoon said, "We are pleased to officially introduce Hugel’s Letibo to China and open a new era in the Chinese botulinum toxin market," adding, "We hope Hugel’s product will provide many Chinese customers with a new experience of beauty."
