[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Gi-myeong, director of Gwangju Hanguk Hospital, has been appointed as an emergency medical guidance doctor at the Gwangju Western Fire Station.
The Gwangju Western Fire Station (Chief Lee Cheontaek) announced on the 5th that they appointed emergency medicine specialist Kim Gi-myeong as an emergency medical guidance doctor to secure the professionalism of pre-hospital emergency services and improve the quality of emergency care.
Specialist Kim graduated from Chonnam National University College of Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Gangnam St. Mary's Hospital. He is currently working in the emergency room at Gwangju Hanguk Hospital.
Specialist Kim will serve until January 22 of next year, with responsibilities including ▲evaluation of emergency responders' on-site treatment and emergency activities ▲education and consultation on emergency equipment and emergency treatment drugs ▲matters related to infection control for emergency responders ▲medical evaluation and consultation on complaints and legal issues arising during emergency activities.
Lee Cheontaek, chief of the Western Fire Station, said, “Through the evaluation and feedback from the guidance doctor on emergency activities, we will do our best to improve the survival rate of critically ill emergency patients and provide the best 119 emergency services in the nation to our citizens.”
