[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 5th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam held the '2022 National Budget Securing Strategy Report Meeting' and set next year's national budget securing target amount at 1.8055 trillion KRW, a 20% increase from this year's secured amount of 1.5046 trillion KRW.

The city formed a special task force for securing the national budget consisting of 5 teams (66 members) led by Mayor Heo Seong-mu as the head, and plans to utilize a human network linked with central government officials and local members of the National Assembly, centered on the Planning and Budget Office and the Seoul Office.

Changwon-type New Deal and new public contest projects include the Industrial Complex Renovation Project with 166.6 billion KRW, the Changwon-type Food Integrated Support Center construction with 2.5 billion KRW, Jinhae Bay Ecological Forest Remodeling with 1.8 billion KRW, Myeongdong Parking Lot (Waterfront Space) Development Project with 1 billion KRW, and Clean Seawater Supply System Establishment with 400 million KRW.

Ongoing projects include the Advanced Warship Research Center Construction Project with 34.5 billion KRW, Process Innovation Simulation Center with 11.4 billion KRW, Changwon City Old Water Supply Network Maintenance Project with 10.8 billion KRW, and Yangdeok District Excellent Rainwater Storage Facility Installation Project with 2.8 billion KRW.

Mayor Heo emphasized, "Government budget securing is essential to realize the first year of plus growth and the V-turn of Changwon's economy," and added, "We will do our best to lead projects for revitalizing Changwon's economy so that the largest-ever national budget can be secured in 2022 as well."
