On the 4th, at the Daewoo E&C headquarters in Euljiro, Jang Seung-gyu, Executive Director and Head of Daewoo E&C Technology Research Institute (left), and Kim Tae-chang, Executive Director of Naver Cloud's Cloud Business Division, took a commemorative photo after signing a business agreement. Daewoo E&C announced on the 5th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Naver Cloud on the 4th at Daewoo E&C headquarters in Euljiro for a remote drone control business. Under this agreement, both companies will cooperate in utilizing cloud services for the remote drone control system and discovering new business opportunities.
Naver Cloud is an IT specialized company providing the largest scale of cloud services among domestic cloud companies. Through this agreement, Daewoo E&C plans to offer its ‘DW Drone Control System’ service together with Naver Cloud starting this year, not only in construction but also in various industries such as firefighting, search and rescue, and coastal reconnaissance.
The ‘DW Drone Control System’ was developed by Daewoo E&C in 2019 as the first in the industry. It is a technology that enables periodic and stable automatic drone flights through a central control system without the need for drone experts.
Recently, in response to COVID-19, this system has been used to remotely support drone video transmission and drone surveying at overseas sites. Daewoo E&C is currently applying this system at 25 sites domestically and internationally.
