[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is recruiting 15 Dobong Welfare Crisis Management Managers called ‘Bonggune Huimangssi’ (10 for 4-hour shifts, 5 for 7-hour shifts) by the 10th, utilizing the Dobong-gu job project fund resources.

The Dobong Welfare Crisis Management Manager ‘Bonggune Huimangssi’ is open to those aged 18 or older who have registered as job seekers at the Dobong Job Plus Center and hold qualifications such as ▲social worker ▲caregiver ▲nurse (assistant nurse) ▲teacher ▲counselor, or have experience participating in similar projects at government offices (district office, community service centers) or welfare facilities. However, preference is given to residents registered in Dobong-gu or vulnerable employment groups (persons with disabilities, national veterans, North Korean defectors, marriage immigrant women, female household heads, etc.).

The hired ‘Bonggune Huimangssi’ will perform welfare tasks for vulnerable groups in Dobong-gu from March to November for 9 months, including monitoring welfare recipients, discovering welfare blind spots, and investigating potentially at-risk households.

The work types are divided into two: 4-hour shifts (10 people) and 7-hour shifts (5 people). The hourly wage is based on the 2021 Dobong-gu living wage (10,590 KRW), with enrollment in the four major insurances, paid holidays, and weekly/annual leave allowances applied.

Those interested can download the related forms from the ‘Recruitment Announcements’ section on the Dobong-gu Office website, fill them out, and submit them in person to the Welfare Policy Division, Hope Welfare Support Team on the 3rd floor of Dobong-gu Office or via email (ming82@dobong.go.kr).

The district plans to select the final successful candidates around the 24th after document screening on February 17 and interviews on February 19.

Meanwhile, Dobong-gu has been continuously creating jobs and supporting vulnerable groups by promoting projects such as the New Deal Job ‘Welfare Coordinator’ from 2016 to 2019, which involved monitoring vulnerable groups, discovering sharing neighbor clubs, and sharing stores, and from 2017 to 2020, conducting the ‘Master of Housekeeping’ project that supports organizing and cleaning target households through specialized training in organizing and storage.

Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “We launched the Dobong Welfare Crisis Management Manager project to support job seekers and welfare recipients who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “We hope this project will help alleviate difficulties for welfare recipients and non-beneficiary at-risk households and become an opportunity to plant hope in our community.”
