[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Shinsegae TV Shopping announced on the 5th that it has launched the 'Gift Sending' service, which allows consumers to easily send and receive gifts via mobile, as the proportion of non-face-to-face lifestyles has increased due to COVID-19.
'Gift Sending' is a service that enables safe and convenient non-face-to-face gift sending through mobile. By pressing the gift sending button located at the bottom of the product introduction page on the Shinsegae TV Shopping mobile app, entering the recipient's phone number, and completing the payment, a link to the gift product is sent to the recipient via text message.
The recipient can click the link and enter the address to receive the gift. Instead of text messages, users can also choose to send via 'KakaoTalk.' In this case, if the recipient is registered on KakaoTalk, the service can be used without entering the phone number, making it more convenient.
To commemorate the launch of the service, Shinsegae TV Shopping plans to give 2,000 won in points to the first 5,000 customers who use 'Gift Sending.' Additionally, until the 28th, new members will receive discount coupons of up to 35%, and existing members will receive 10% of their cumulative payment amount in February as points when they spend over 50,000 won on TV broadcast products as part of a promotion.
A Shinsegae TV Shopping official said, "In the first half of the year, there are many special events such as the Lunar New Year holiday, Valentine's Day, Children's Day, and Parents' Day, so we expect a significant increase in customers using the 'Gift Sending' service," adding, "We plan to continuously strengthen the 'Gift Sending' category by expanding applicable product groups and enhancing customer convenience."
