Geumcheon-gu Supports Up to 3 Million KRW for Participation Fees in Advanced Industry Exhibition

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is providing support for participation fees for the '2021 Advanced Industry Exhibition' to help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) develop domestic and international sales channels.

The support targets local SMEs planning to participate in exhibitions held this year, supporting a total of 15 companies: 10 companies participating in domestic exhibitions and 5 companies participating in overseas exhibitions.

The district expanded the support scale from 11 companies last year to 15 companies to assist local businesses struggling due to the COVID-19 situation.

For domestic exhibitions, up to 1.5 million KRW can be supported, and for overseas exhibitions, up to 3 million KRW. Companies planning to participate in online exhibitions due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic can also apply.

Companies wishing to participate can download the application form from the Geumcheon-gu website's Notices and Announcements board by February 19, fill it out, and submit it in person to the Regional Economy Division on the 11th floor of Geumcheon-gu Office.

After internal review and deliberation by the Local Subsidy Review Committee, the final supported companies will be announced on the district website after mid-March. However, companies with overdue local taxes, those with 300 or more regular employees, subsidiaries of large corporations, or companies receiving duplicate support from other institutions or autonomous districts will be excluded from the review.

Since 2010, the district has supported exhibition participation costs for a total of 287 companies, helping SMEs develop sales channels and promote exports.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "Due to the impact of COVID-19, local SMEs leading the regional economy are struggling with sales channel development and facing management difficulties. We will prepare and support various policies to strengthen SMEs' sales channels and competitiveness through close cooperation with related organizations."

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Regional Economy Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.
