Dongseo University Department of Health Administration, First Certification of 'Health Medical Information Management Education Program' in Busan Obtained Department of Health Administration, College of Health and Medical Sciences, Dongseo University.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Department of Health Administration at Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) has obtained a 3-year certification and a 2-year provisional certification in the ‘2020 1st Cycle (Initial) Health and Medical Information Management Education Evaluation and Certification’ conducted by the Korea Health and Medical Information Management Education Evaluation Institute. This is the first among universities in the Busan area.

The Department of Health Administration at Dongseo University was established in 2008 and has provided an excellent educational environment and high-quality curriculum for the past 13 years. The certification was awarded with excellent results across a total of 5 areas and 52 evaluation items.

After the revision of the ‘Medical Technicians Act,’ only universities with certified health and medical information management education programs will be able to train health and medical information managers in the future.

This certification was first implemented in 2020 to reorganize the curriculum and provide students with quality education and opportunities to advance as professionals.

Therefore, the Department of Health Administration at Dongseo University has laid the foundation to cultivate excellent health and medical information managers. Along with courses such as health education and health policy management, it can now offer various future demand-tailored curricula.

Professor Lee Hyo-young, head professor of the Department of Health Administration, said, “Taking this certification as an opportunity, we will work hard with the faculty to create a high-quality curriculum and environment to nurture professional talent.”
