AI Experts Support Career Education… Ministry of Education and Intel MOU

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education and Intel Korea are signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote career education related to artificial intelligence (AI).

Through this MOU, the Ministry of Education expects to enhance career development capabilities in preparation for the AI era by utilizing Intel's abundant material and human resources related to artificial intelligence. Starting in March, Intel will accept applications from schools and provide AI career education programs either online or offline. AI experts working in the field will visit schools directly or offer career experience, special lectures, and discussion opportunities for students who visit Intel facilities, providing comprehensive exploration opportunities related to AI careers and jobs. Priority support will be given to regions lacking AI career experience infrastructure, such as rural and fishing villages.

Intel supports career education programs (AI For Youth) and related training for elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide. By establishing a space innovation model for AI career education and operating cooperative schools linking online and offline, Intel helps with career experiences in the software field and supports vocational competency education necessary for the AI era. Intel plans to expand AI education by collaborating with 3,000 institutions in 30 countries by 2030.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye said, "Through this MOU, I hope that opportunities for students to develop communication skills with artificial intelligence and AI utilization capabilities through career experience will be greatly expanded."

Kwon Myung-sook, CEO of Intel Korea, said, "We will fully support the Ministry of Education's policy to revitalize career education to help students prepare for the AI era and contribute to enhancing national competitiveness by laying the foundation for nurturing AI talent."
