IBK, Abolishes 'Uniform' and Introduces Dress Code Flexibility

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] IBK Industrial Bank is eliminating 'uniforms' for the first time within the bank and fully liberalizing work attire.

According to the financial sector on the 31st, IBK Industrial Bank will liberalize the work attire of employees at branches and the headquarters starting February 1.

At IBK Industrial Bank, only female clerks at the bank officer level had worn uniforms, but now all employees can choose to wear either suits or business casual (comfortable work clothes).

Before the full implementation, IBK Industrial Bank operated a 'Business Casual Day' once a week for employees at the headquarters and branches until the end of last year to survey overall employee satisfaction. As a result, the majority of employees and customers visiting the branches showed overwhelming support for the liberalization of work attire.

An IBK Industrial Bank official said, "The bank is reviewing various measures to improve organizational culture," adding, "Many responses indicated that the liberalization of work attire has enhanced not only employees' autonomy but also their professionalism."
