22 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Gwangju... Total 1,715 Cases

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] In Gwangju Metropolitan City, 21 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed.

According to Gwangju City on the 28th, as of 6 p.m. that day, 21 people were confirmed positive and classified as Gwangju cases number 1695 to 1715.

Among them, 8 are related to Gwangju Andiok Church, 6 to Gwangju case number 1499, 5 to Gwangju case number 1645, and 2 to Hyojeong Nursing Hospital.

The cumulative confirmed cases are 39 for Gwangju Andiok Church and 160 for Hyojeong Nursing Hospital.

More than half of the confirmed cases were tested at the Gwangju City Hall screening clinic the previous day.

The total number of new confirmed cases so far today is 36, including 15 previously announced cases.

The quarantine authorities have secured the list of 550 church members who attended the service at Gwangju Andiok Church last Sunday, recommended testing at screening clinics, and placed close contacts under self-quarantine.

So far, 240 church members have been tested.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the Gwangju area have increased to 1715.

The quarantine authorities plan to conduct in-depth epidemiological investigations using GPS and other methods to block additional infection chains.
