[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Miryang City, Gyeongnam Province, has been selected as the final project recipient for the '2021 Livestock Odor Improvement Contest Project.'


According to the city on the 28th, the livestock odor improvement project has a total budget of 3.56 billion KRW, with 20% national funding, 20% local funding, 50% national loan, and 10% self-funding.


The city was selected as number one in Gyeongnam and third nationwide due to high evaluations in the thoroughness of the project plan, administrative leadership in project participation willingness, and prior preparation.


They plan to invest 3.6 billion KRW in livestock manure treatment and odor reduction facilities tailored to the farm conditions of 23 pig farming households in the area, focusing on improving the livestock environment.


Mayor Park Il-ho said, "Through this project, we will do our best to resolve conflicts between the livestock industry and residents, improve the negative perception of livestock farming, and lay the foundation for a sustainable livestock environment."
