[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 28th that it was selected as the best institution by receiving the highest Grade 1 in the ‘2020 Public Institution Anti-Corruption Policy Evaluation’ conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The anti-corruption policy evaluation is a system designed to enhance integrity by assessing anti-corruption activities and achievements autonomously pursued by public institutions.
This year, written evaluations and on-site inspections were conducted on a total of 4 sectors, 8 items, and 20 indicators related to anti-corruption policies for 263 public institutions nationwide.
Buk-gu received Grade 1 for the first time since being included in the anti-corruption policy evaluation target institutions in 2017.
In particular, it scored high in all areas including the operation of anti-corruption systems, dissemination of anti-corruption policies, and expansion of participation in integrity policies to eliminate corruption risks.
The achievement of Buk-gu, which improved from Grade 4 in 2017 and 2018 to Grade 2 in 2019 and finally to the highest Grade 1 this year, is interpreted as the result of actively promoting policies to improve public service integrity and eradicate corruption during the 7th local government administration.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “We will continue to strive to realize trustworthy and transparent administration for residents and to firmly root a culture of integrity within the public service.”
