Daegu City Launches COVID-19 Vaccination 'Implementation Task Force'... Appoints Expert Committee for 'Adverse Reactions' The scene of the Daegu City Vaccination Regional Council meeting held on the 26th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City held the first meeting of the 'COVID-19 Vaccination Promotion Team' on the 26th and is accelerating full-scale preparations, including designating affiliated cooperative hospitals for each vaccination center.

The promotion team, led by the Deputy Mayor for Administration, is composed of five practical teams: Implementation General Team, Adverse Reaction Response Team, Vaccination Institution Operation Team, Personnel and Vaccine Management Team, and Vaccination Support Team. In addition to these teams, a separate Media Public Relations Unit and Situation Management Unit are operated.

Separately, Daegu City, which has formed a 'Regional Council' and an 'Expert Committee on Adverse Reactions to Vaccination' through a public-private joint effort, plans to designate vaccination centers for vaccines requiring ultra-low temperature cold storage in early February. Consigned medical institutions for vaccines stored at room temperature will be selected during February.

Daegu City plans to secure sufficient medical personnel for safe vaccination by requesting support for the deployment of public health doctors and signing agreements with the Medical Association and Nursing Association, as well as recruiting personnel through public announcements and various other methods.

Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin stated, "We are making thorough preparations in advance so that vaccinations can be administered immediately once vaccines are supplied. We will focus the city's capabilities to ensure that Daegu citizens can receive vaccinations quickly and safely."
