Volunteer Activities Conducted by Gwangyang City Women's Association, Citizen Participation Group, and Gwangyang Aikiwoom Center

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Gwangyang City Women's Association and the Citizen Participation Group announced on the 27th that they will provide meal support and care volunteering for children using the Gwangyang Aikiwoom Center until the end of next month during the school vacation.

This volunteer work targets children in blind spots of care during the vacation, such as children from dual-income families, and takes place at four Aikiwoom Centers providing emergency care (Yonggang, Gwangyeong, Songbo 5th Complex, Songbo 6th Complex). Members of the Citizen Participation Group and the Women's Association participate alternately with two people per center to support meal distribution and care activities.

The total project cost is 75 million won, sponsored by the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation, and the Senior Club prepares and delivers side dishes.

Choi Sook-jwa, head of the Women's and Family Division, said, "We thank the members of each organization who actively participated in forming a village care community culture and volunteering for emergency care meal support during the vacation," adding, "We will continue to strive to relieve the childcare burden on families and create a women-friendly city where work and family coexist."
