[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] ABL Life announced on the 27th that it has awarded scholarships totaling 5 million KRW, with 1 million KRW each to five children of customers, funded voluntarily by its executives.
ABL Life executives, including President Si Yeo-jeo-chiang, pooled a portion of their salaries to create a fund of 20 million KRW.
ABL Life devised various plans to use the fund not only to encourage employees, enhance brand value, and support financial consultants' (FC) sales activities but also to contribute to socially meaningful causes, deciding to allocate part of it to nurturing social talents.
Accordingly, in November of last year, the company solicited stories from its FCs about customer children facing academic difficulties due to family circumstances, and after a scholarship selection committee's review, scholarship recipients were chosen.
Lee Sang-yoon, Head of Human Resources at ABL Life, said, "We gained great strength from hearing the stories of students pursuing their studies with dreams and hope," adding, "We hope this small support will help these students grow into talents who will greatly contribute to society in the future."
