POSCO Launches Eco-Friendly Vehicle Integrated Brand 'e Autopos'


[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] POSCO will hold a launch event for its integrated eco-friendly vehicle products and solutions brand, 'e Autopos,' on the 27th together with related client companies.


POSCO's 'e Autopos' is the second integrated product and solution brand following the premium steel material brand 'INNOVILT' launched in 2019. The name is a compound word combining eco-friendly, representing environmental friendliness, and electrified AUTOmotive solution of POSco, symbolizing electrification solutions. It embodies innovation aimed at leading the eco-friendly vehicle market through eco-friendliness, collaborative synergy, and future orientation.


Jung Tak, Head of POSCO's Marketing Division, stated the significance of the brand launch, saying, "We will focus the group's capabilities on creating high-quality, high value-added products and innovative solutions that meet market demands, and lead the eco-friendly vehicle market through win-win cooperation with our clients."


Key products under the 'e Autopos' brand include high-strength steel sheets for body and chassis, battery pack-dedicated steel, energy-efficient steel sheets for drive motors, metal separators for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and anode and cathode materials for secondary batteries. POSCO plans to combine the capabilities of group affiliates such as POSCO Chemical, POSCO International, and POSCO SPS to provide a package of steel and secondary battery material products for eco-friendly vehicles along with customized usage solutions tailored to customers.


In response to the rapidly changing automotive market due to carbon neutrality and the advent of a hydrogen society, POSCO established an eco-friendly vehicle sales organization in 2019 and launched this brand to preoccupy the eco-friendly vehicle market and expand sales in earnest. The eco-friendly vehicle market, including electric and hydrogen vehicles, is expected to grow from 6 million units in 2020 to 39 million units by 2030, with the related material market size also rapidly expanding.


Going forward, POSCO plans to add an 'e Autopos' category on its website to provide product introductions and customer-tailored usage solution information. Additionally, POSCO will engage in joint marketing activities such as co-developing eco-friendly vehicle products with clients using 'e Autopos' and participating together in domestic and international exhibitions.
