[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Jo Jeonghun, a member of the Transition Era party, denied media reports on the 26th that his announcement to run for the Seoul mayoral by-election was imminent, but stated that he is "listening to the opinions of various people."

Through a text message on the same day, Rep. Jo said, "The report that I will announce my candidacy tomorrow is false," but added, "I am listening to the valuable opinions of many people."

A representative from Rep. Jo's office told Asia Economy in a phone call, "Since Rep. Jo has been continuing related activities to listen to the grievances of Seoul citizens, such as the 'Citizen White Paper,' it seems that this story came up," and added, "It was not an activity considering the Seoul mayor position. This story did not come from our side."
