Actor Park Si-yeon.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Actress Park Si-yeon (42), who was caught by the police for 'driving under the influence of a hangover,' has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 26th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that Park was recently sent to the prosecution on charges including drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act and violation of the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents.
Park is accused of rear-ending a passenger car waiting at a left-turn signal at Jamsil 3 Samgeori in Songpa-gu, Seoul, around 11:30 a.m. on the 17th. At that time, Park's blood alcohol concentration was 0.097%, which is at the level of license cancellation.
Park's agency apologized, stating, "On the evening of the 16th, Park Si-yeon drank alcohol with an acquaintance at home, and the next day, she judged that her hangover had cleared and went out using her own car, resulting in a minor collision."
Park herself also posted on her Instagram, "I regret and deeply reflect on my complacency," and "I sincerely apologize for causing trouble. Regardless of the reason, it was something that should never have been done," repeatedly apologizing.
