16 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Gyeongnam Province... Daily Average Cases at 19.7 (Comprehensive)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] As of 1:30 PM on the 26th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that a total of 16 confirmed cases have occurred: 6 in Geoje, 3 in Jinju, 2 each in Changwon and Miryang, and 1 each in Gimhae, Haman, and Geochang.


Among the 6 confirmed cases in Geoje, 5 were all contacts of confirmed cases within the province who developed symptoms while in quarantine and tested positive, classified as numbers 1881, 1884?1888.


Additionally, 1 person related to a Geoje nursing service facility tested positive and was classified as number 1887. This brings the total cumulative confirmed cases related to the Geoje nursing service to 21.


Among the 3 confirmed cases in Jinju, 2 had contact with family members of confirmed cases and 1 had contact with an acquaintance of a confirmed case, testing positive and classified as numbers 1880, 1882, and 1892.


Among the 2 confirmed cases in Changwon, 1 had contact with a family member of a confirmed case and 1 had contact with an acquaintance of a confirmed case; both tested positive in pre-release quarantine tests and were classified as numbers 1883 and 1890.


Both confirmed cases in Miryang are family members of confirmed cases within the province and tested positive, classified as numbers 1889 and 1895.


One confirmed case each in Gimhae and Haman tested positive after contact with acquaintances of confirmed cases and were classified as numbers 1893 and 1891, respectively.


The single confirmed case in Geochang tested positive after voluntarily undergoing testing due to symptoms and was classified as number 1894. The infection route is currently under investigation.


Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province have increased to 1,892 (205 hospitalized, 1,679 discharged, 8 deceased).


Shin Jong-woo, Director of the Provincial Welfare and Health Bureau, stated, "The daily average number of confirmed cases in Gyeongnam over the past week was 19.7, which is a decrease to the 10s range for the first time in 8 weeks since December."
