[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Former Justice Party leader Kim Jong-cheol, who sexually harassed Justice Party lawmaker Jang Hye-young, has been reported to a civic group.
On the 26th, Halbindan submitted a complaint against former leader Kim to the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul.
The organization stated, "This is not a matter to be ended with resignation and dismissal from position, so former leader Kim must face strict legal judgment," and requested, "Please thoroughly investigate the entire case of the 'sexual crime' committed using the superior position and power of the party leader."
The day before, the Justice Party announced that former leader Kim had sexually harassed lawmaker Jang on the 15th of this month and voluntarily resigned from his position as leader.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the victim, lawmaker Jang, is not considering criminal charges. However, since sexual harassment is not a crime requiring a complaint by the victim nor a crime that can be waived by the victim's consent, criminal punishment is possible regardless of the victim's intention or complaint.
