[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, is conducting hygiene inspections on manufacturers and sellers of high-consumption food products until the 29th in celebration of the Lunar New Year.
According to Damyang-gun on the 26th, the inspection team, consisting of two-person pairs of public officials and consumer food hygiene monitors, will conduct on-site visits over five days. The inspection targets include 9 manufacturers and processors of seasonal food products and 5 food service establishments, totaling 14 locations.
The main inspection items are whether there is any unreported or unlabeled manufacturing and sales, use or sale of expired products, and compliance with hygienic handling standards.
A county official stated, “Minor violations of the Food Sanitation Act found during the inspection will be corrected on-site, while serious or intentional and habitual food violations will be subject to administrative measures and prosecution. We will strive to ensure that residents can purchase seasonal food products for the Lunar New Year with confidence through this inspection.”
